Spaghetti films often glorify the dark side of human nature. in Face To Face, same happens to History Professor Brad Fletcher ( Gian Maria Volonte) from England, who is suffering from Tuberculosis. With a hope to have some fresh air he heads west for his health only to find the biggest twist in his life.
There Fletcher is taken hostage by a wounded on-run outlaw, Solomon Bennet (Milian). Enthralled by Bennet's way of life Fletcher helps him recover his health. That's the start of their uncanny friendship and instead of returning England Fletcher decides to join the Bennet's gang.
Face To Face depicts how company affects your character. While under Fletcher's influence Bennet feels remorse on his cold-blooded ways, Fletcher shows a transformation from an educated Prof to a wild outlaws. Gradually the two men begin to influence each other. With Fletcher becoming more dangerous as an outlaw than Solomon ever was. Solomon on the other end begins to see another way of life & the folly of his criminal past. With staged with some great western scenes, the transformation between the two characters is really interesting & believable.

With his intellectual services, Fletcher becomes a key member of the gang and soon challenges Bennet for the leader's position. After one of the gang members turns out to be Charlie Siringo (William Berger), a Pinkerton detective, Fletcher's bright future as an established outlaw of Wild West seems to in jeopardy.
In Spaghetti Westerns recipe, music is an important spice and it truely is when Ennio Morricone wears the chef-hat.
Faccia a faccia is the second of Sollima's three westerns, following La resa dei conti ("The Big Gundown") and predating Corri, uomo, corri ("Run, Man, Run!"), a sequel to La resa dei conti. Milian stars in a lead role in all three films.
